Our client is a medium sized renewable energy focused consultancy, established for over ten years , with an industry leading client list. The consultancy specialises in the field of project management support services in renewable energy, handling the complete range of disciplines, from project conception to completion and operational management. The firm has a network of offices located throughout the UK.

Our client is currently looking to recruit experienced Wind Analysts. These roles provide comprehensive wind regime assessments including wind data gathering, data analyses and site appraisal to key clients working in onshore and offshore wind.

These will be key roles in the Wind Analysis and Due Diligence team reporting to the Senior Consultant - Wind Analysis and Due Diligence. These roles will also support the management team on projects throughout the organisation with the successful candidates working in cross functional project teams.

The role of a Wind Analysts needs not only the highest level of technical knowledge and expertise in the field of Wind Resource Assessment, but also excellent and proven knowledge of industry standard tools, wind flow models and preferably at least 3 years of professional experience.

Key attributes

Essential

Basic understanding of the lower boundary layer physics
Extensive experience working in self sufficient manner at a project level
Thorough wind flow modelling technical knowledge
3+ years wind analysis experience, using WindPro, WAsP, WAsP Engineering
Experience of managing multi project work
Fluent English speaking and writing

Advantageous

Insight in state-of-the-art wind measurement techniques such as sodar, lidar
Experience in other than above listed wind models and/or CFD wind flow modelling
Experience in technical management of wind measurement campaigns
Broad network within the wind modeller community
Proven track record within a wind modeller environment
Fundamental understanding of AutoCAD and/or ArcView
