Our client’s Offshore department are currently recruiting for a Network Manager/Plant Electrical Engineer, to be responsible for the operation of wind farms, including the network operation and control during the commissioning phase and once the project is complete, into operation.
Reporting to the Commissioning Manager during the commissioning phase and Wind Farm O&M or Asset Manager, post take-over, your main responsibilities will include:-
- Coordination of all network related activities for the project in a safe and efficient manner
- Application of electrical safety rules
- Assist in the planning of work activities
- Interface with Distribution Network Operator and electricity trader
- For projects in design or under construction, offer advice and assistance to the design and construction teams, in optimising the safety, efficiency and operability of the project.
The Candidate
Candidates should ideally hold a H&S qualification, such as IOSH or NEBOSH and have knowledge of generating or other mechanical set-ups. Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status is highly desirable, along with being computer/SCADA literate. It is essential that the candidate be safety and efficiency orientated, with proven capability of making confident and reasoned decisions. To maximise flexibility in this role it would also be advantageous, although not essential, that the candidate would be capable of offshore working.
