Infrastructure Associate / Divisional Director

The Role   

Our client's have been contributing to Hong Kong’s infrastructure by formulating sustainable development strategies, defining environmental targets and carrying capacities for the next 30 years of road, rail, residential, port, industrial and commercial development.

To ensure their continued delivery to regional clients, there is a requirement for a Divisional Director to join, becoming a strategic addition to the growing team in Hong Kong. The Infrastructure Associate/Divisional Director will proactively contribute business direction and management for the Civil/Water engineering project developments in target territories and co-ordination with business interests in other regional countries.

A pivotal role within the Transport and Infrastructure division, the role will utilise technical and business skills with activity ranging from commercial and business activities to project leadership and oversight presenting an excellent platform to enhance a long-term career with our client.

Responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to:
  • Project Manage Civil / Water disciplinary engineering design and study teams on various major infrastructure projects
  • Strategic planning for growth, contributing and driving division’s business planning processes, leadership of prospect capture and proposal activity
  • Ensure business development is aligned with wider group business activities and objectives.
  • Oversee and support engineering team’s feasibility studies, design, construction and project management for infrastructure projects.
  • Seek out opportunities for pro-active customer engagement with key customers and opportunities to promote the skills of the whole division and broader organisation.
  • Enable continuous improvement of project management and delivery to meet and exceed client’s expectations.
  • Collate and analyse market intelligence aligned to Identifying future projects and prepare capture plans.
  • Enabling market awareness of future key customers, potential customers and existing customers declining.
  • Overview and direction on skills and career development of junior/intermediate staff
The Candidate

Applicants should have a depth of technical expertise in multi-disciplinary design engineering ideally from working in an engineering consultancy. Exposure to a range of project dynamics, sizes and progressive input and influence gained over a professional career, likely to be gained over a 15 years+ career is essential for this strategic requirement, along with regional experience.
Other attributes are:
  • Chartered/Professional Engineer status is essential for any applicant. Preferably Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers would be favoured.
  • A depth of experience working on civil, utilities and water engineering design and construction based projects is essential for an applicant to be considered.
  • Proven Strength and capability in business development and strategic business planning in Hong Kong’s engineering market is essential.
  • Experience in infrastructure, regional project, engineering management in Hong Kong essential.
  • Experience working at a strategic level on significant engineering commissions, preferably civil discipline based, is of significant benefit.
  • A strong background in comprehensive project management of transportation infrastructure projects including design and construction supervision.
  • Successful experience of commercial and business alignment to market influences
  • Prior experience of working with Hong Kong regional organisations would be of benefit to any applicant.
  • Capability and willingness to support and guide the development of junior staff.
  • Commercially astute, strong business acumen and a personal pride in delivering to and exceeding targets.
  • Motivated and motivational, willing to lead by example and inspire client values throughout business activities
