Our client is one of the world's broadest based wind energy companies. They have over 20 years experience in the development, construction and ownership of wind farms on a global basis.

Grid connections are becoming an increasingly critical aspect in the development of wind farms in the UK and Ireland. In response to the increasing workload, our client is looking to recruit a Grid Connections Engineer.

The Grid Connections Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:-

• Establish through discussion with DNO's or through the use of subcontractors, the grid options available to a wind farm project during the development phase.
• Completion and progressing of connection applications and analysis of resulting offers.
• Negotiation with the DNO on technical requirements contained in the grid offers and connection agreements.
• Define the technical requirements for the wind turbines and the electrical design
• Managing project grid connections through the construction phase
• Manage grid code compliance
• Participation in industry forums
• Provide support and guidance to the grid engineers

The person:

To be equal to the challenge, you will ideally have proven experience on distribution and/or transmission networks in the UK. You will be organised, focussed and capable of working under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to review grid documents to identify and communicate technical risks to the project team.
