Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist / Civil Engineer (m/f)

The Client

Our client is a globally recognised engineering consultancy headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. For over 40 years they have been active in more than 140 countries as consultants, technical experts and project managers in all infrastructure related areas. Their brand shows global leadership in energy, hydropower and water resources and transportation.

The company comprises 7 associated companies, 6 international branch offices as well as more than 50 representatives throughout the world. They have 570 staff  from more than forty countries. Our client’s consulting services comprise studies, project concepts, approval and detailed design, tender preparation, supervision of construction, assembly and commissioning, operational consulting, project management and fiduciary project execution.

The role is based in the Department  of Geotechnical Engineering, Geology and Dams within the Hydropower and Water Resources Division.

The Role

  • Design and analysis related to surface and underground excavation, dams, rock support and grouting works
  • Short assignments on construction sites to examine the site conditions and adapt the design accordingly
  • Feasibility, tender and design in rock engineering
  • Designing, monitoring and evaluating of site investigation and laboratory programs
  • Supervising of geotechnical works
  • General geotechnics/soil mechanics, foundation engineering
  • Project management of smaller projects, esp. in the field of geotechnics
  • Writing of geological reports and expertises
The Candidate

You are a graduate geotechnical or civil engineer (Dipl.-Ing. / Master of Technical University or equivalent or higher) in the field of civil engineering with a specialisation in geotechnics/rock- and soil mechanics with a possible doctorate in that field.

Additionally you possess at least a couple of years of professional experience in the field of geotechnics as well as rock and dam engineering, with emphasis on the latter.

Moreover you are experienced in analysing and planning of such structures applying numerical methods of calculation. You have also gained experience with in-situ and laboratory geotechnical testing.

Excellent English language skills are required - both written and verbal. Additional languages (French and/or Spanish) would be an advantage.

You should have relevant overseas experience combined with sound cross-cultural experience.
