The Client

Our client is establishing itself as a solar electric utility, developing, owning and managing solar power generating assets in the Mediterranean region. They work with different solar technologies (including CSP, CPV, PV and BIPV) and select the most appropriate technology for each particular project and its unique geographic and solar resource characteristics. They have a growing number of projects which are expected to achieve construction-ready status in the coming 24 months.

The Role

The Role will include but is not limited to:

• Liaise and represent the company externally to shareholders, media, government agencies, , strategic partners, funding agencies, and the general public.
• Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning, real estate, and conservation of assets.
• Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and EU statutory requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.
• Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
• Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
• Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
• Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
• Assist in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance required to start a business.
• Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.

The Candidate

•  A finance / investment professional with CFO experience
• A knowledge of the EU Utilities / Power sector is preferred
•  A minimum of 5 years experience in the Renewables sector, preferably Solar
• Experience in growth enterprises desired
