The Division Our Coastal & Rivers team is continually in demand worldwide for projects involving coastal and river management and the enhancement of the environment. Our broad knowledge and experience enable us to find practical solutions for the most complex of problems, for example flood risk management against the backdrop of climate change and coastal erosion Job description The new Director will be responsible for consolidating, developing and further expanding a team of engineers and scientists. Key responsibilities are as follows:- Develop and implement a marketing and business development strategy. Recruit, appoint and manage team members to deliver this strategy. Provide technical direction, mentoring and line management to team members. Provide financial and timescale control on project delivery and on non-project related costs. Manage and/or direct large and complex projects, delivering them to clients on time and to budget. Lead the marketing of Company services, including the preparation of proposals and pre-qualification documents. Provide technical inputs to a range of river, estuary and coastal projects, including (but not limited to): Large scale Plans (e.g. Shoreline Management Plans, Catchment Flood Management Plans); Strategy Studies; Pre-feasibility studies; Feasibility studies; Outline and detailed appraisals; Outline and detailed design; Construction supervision; Flood risk assessments; and River hydrology/hydraulics or tidal/coastal process studies. Your Qualifications & Experience Experience in river or coastal engineering; Nationally respected with the industry; Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering; Chartered Engineer via MICE or CIWEM; Awareness of civil engineering industry procedures and best practice; Previous project management experience; Good managerial, commercial and technical track record.
